Key Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer at Microsoft, selected candidates will:
- Design and build scalable, secure, and resilient components of the Azure Automation service.
- Develop APIs, services, and tools to orchestrate millions of automation jobs with strict performance SLAs.
- Collaborate with Azure partner services for seamless customer integration.
- Enhance hybrid automation capabilities across on-premises data centers and multi-cloud environments.
- Leverage AI-driven automation to improve customer experiences.
- Implement telemetry, monitoring, and diagnostics for proactive issue detection.
- Participate in agile development, including design and code reviews, while ensuring high-quality engineering practices.
- Contribute to the Azure roadmap and vision through technical insights and collaboration with global teams.
Required Qualifications
To be eligible for the Microsoft Software Engineer role in 2025, candidates must have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
OR equivalent experience in coding. - Proven skills in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check (conducted upon hire/transfer and every two years).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 1+ years of technical engineering experience, OR
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field with strong coding experience, OR
- Equivalent professional experience.
Additional preferred skills include:
- 1+ year of collaboration experience with peers and partner teams.
- 1+ year of coding, debugging, algorithm design, and technical problem-solving experience.
- 1+ year of cloud-scale services experience, including server/service management and adaptability to new systems.
