Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Junior AI/ML Engineer to join our Sustaining Engineering team. This role is ideal for early‑career engineers who enjoy solving real-world technical challenges, working directly on customer issues, and building intelligent tools that improve developer productivity and operational efficiency. The engineer should thrive on solving complex customer issues and ensuring production systems run smoothly. In this role, you’ll be the bridge between our customers and internal teams, combining technical expertise with strong communication skills to maintain the trust our customers place in us.  The engineer will contribute not only by analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving customer‑reported issues, but also by creating AI-driven and agentic solutions that streamline engineering workflows, automate troubleshooting, and enhance log/code analysis capabilities across the organization.
Technical Skills
- 6-18 Â Months of professional experience in product development
- Solid foundation in Python, with experience in ML/AI libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit‑learn, or Transformers-based frameworks.
- Good understanding of software engineering concepts: debugging, logging, REST APIs, distributed systems basics.
- Understanding of web application architecture, APIs, and databases
- Familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG systems, or agentic workflows is a strong plus.
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices.
- Strong programming skills with experience debugging and fixing production code
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues systematically
- Experience working with version control systems (Git) and creating pull requests
- Genuine passion for customer success and problem-solving
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools
- Experience with cloud platforms and distributed systems is a plus

Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Issue Analysis & Troubleshooting
- Investigate, analyze, and reproduce customer‑reported issues in production or near‑production environments.
- Debug and analyze application logs, telemetry, traces, exceptions, and service behavior.
- Identify root causes, propose solutions, and collaborate with senior engineers to develop and deliver fixes or workarounds.
- Communicate technical findings with clarity and confidence to internal stakeholders.
- Document findings, patterns, and learnings to accelerate future troubleshooting.
- Partner with various customer facing teams to connect with customers and partners to gather detailed information about production issues, demonstrating empathy and technical acumen
- Maintain clear, proactive communication throughout the resolution process to build and maintain customer trust
- Partner closely with Support and CloudOps teams to ensure seamless customer experience
2. AI/ML Tooling & Agentic Solution Development
- Design, build & maintain AI-powered tools, including:
- Automated log analysis assistants
- Code‑understanding agents
- Troubleshooting copilots
- Root-cause analysis (RCA) recommender systems
- Develop agentic workflows to improve engineering productivity, such as:
- Intelligent search over logs and codebases
- Automated test generation
- Impact analysis of code changes
- Support bots to assist sustaining engineers
- Continuously explore new models, frameworks, and techniques to enhance the team’s capabilities.
3. Technical Troubleshooting & Resolution
- Investigate and diagnose complex issues across the full stack using AI-powered observability tools and traditional debugging techniques
- Dive deep into codebases to identify root causes of production incidents
- Create well-documented pull requests with fixes and route them to subject matter experts for expedited review
- Follow up diligently with Product and Engineering teams to ensure timely resolution and deployment of fixes
- Collaborate closely with development teams to understand product architecture, known issues, and design principles.
- Support release processes by validating fixes, contributing to hotfixes or service packs as needed.
- Proactively look for opportunities to reduce manual effort through intelligent automation.
4. Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze patterns in customer issues to identify opportunities for product improvements
- Contribute to building stronger observability and monitoring capabilities
- Document troubleshooting processes and solutions to build a knowledge base for the team
- Participate in post-incident reviews with a learning mindset, focusing on prevention and process improvements
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Support, CloudOps, Product, and Engineering teams to deliver fast, reliable resolutions
- Advocate for customer needs within internal teams while balancing technical constraints
- Share insights from customer interactions to inform product roadmap and quality initiatives
