Objective of the Hackathon:
- Identify all forms that are required to be filed that can have gender diversity related information From each form for companies that match a specified search criterion (for example, revenues between $100m and $200m, software companies founded between 2005 to 2015) that can potentially contain gender information, figure out what analysis can be done to determine gender differences
- This will mean reading each PDF/TIFF format file, XBRL data, and determining people names in different roles and deducing the gender from these filing
Hackathon Description:
- The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requires firms with publicly traded shares to issue periodic reports to shareholders. These SEC filings are part of the SEC’s Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval system (EDGAR), a large online database.
- This is veritable treasure trove of annotated and structured document data which can be used for various machine learning tasks like Document Classification and Information Extraction.
Hackathon Format
- Round 1 (Online): – MCQ with Cut-off, candidates scoring more than cut-off will go to the 2nd round.
- Round 2 (Online): – Shortlisted candidates can form their own team and the problem statement would be visible on which they need to share the prototype/POC.
- Round 3 (Online): – Jury presentation of top 10 teams followed by R & R
